While I'm only in Hakodate for 3 days I plan to visit Mister Donut 5 times. This has become my morning ritual; this place is amazing! First I want to compliment the staff (Ami M. And Naomi M.) For being so patient and helpful even with the language barrier. They went out of their way to communicate with this NYC girl and were so friendly. Above and Beyond Japanese standards. It really made my trip amazing. Onto the food! I've tried nearly everything this location had in the window, just a few more items to taste. While their American style donuts are phenomenal, the Japanese style foods are out of this world. I'm a carbivore, and two of my favorite items are attached. Japanese chiffon bread (so light and fluffy) with corn and cheese. There's no soggyness here even though there's a cream sauce! I'm jealous! The flavor was rich and decadent. The cinnamon bubble donut is a must try. Soft with a great chew, and a nice dusting of cinnamon and sugar. Make sure to get a Custard filled anything, it's the perfect creme custard you expect in a french restaurant. I wish mister donut could come to NYC, but only if it's the same exact...
Read moreI heard that it was the cheapest miso restaurant in Japan, so I went there by car. There is no parking lot at the store, so I parked at a nearby coin parking lot, and there was only one employee in the small store. I looked at the price of the donuts, but I don't usually go to Misdo, so I don't know if the prices are cheap. For now, the sweets were Honey Churro, Hot Sweet Pie with Apple and Shrimp Gratin Pie, and Hot Savory Pie BBQ Frankfurt for 862 yen including tax. Infection prevention measures were taken well, and the customer service from the staff was very good. If you go by car, you'll have to pay for parking, so it's probably best to go shopping first. P.S. Please refrain from taking photos inside...
Read moreJapan's premier donut chain, Mister Donut offers a wider menu that just donuts, but I've never tried anything else because that'd be sacrilege. The donuts are light and easy to digest. I recommend the Old Fashioned because it compliments the hot coffee, which is a delicious blend that offers the bonus of free refills! Occasional deals drop prices ridiculously low and seasonal offering mix things up. You'd be hard pressed to find a better...
