This was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. It felt like I was discriminated against as a foreigner in Japan for the first time.
Even though there were three empty tables, we stood for 20 minutes. As soon as we sat down, we ordered, but it took 40 minutes for the food to arrive. I ordered a sushi set that comes with ten pieces.
After sitting for 10 to 20 minutes, two groups of Japanese customers, who also didnโt have reservations, were seated immediately and received their food right away. They arrived later than we did and had no reservations either, yet their food came out quickly.
I can't understand this situation. It might be a misunderstanding, but waiting 40 minutes for our food doesn't make sense. Every time I looked over at the sushi chefs, they seemed to pause their work and only resumed when...
