Went to the restaurant in person and to try to make a reservation for lunch on the next day, but the staff told us that we do not need a reservation to order gyunabe for lunch - we just need to show up at 11.00.
Next day we showed up at 5 mins before 11 and we were the third group waiting - once we told the English speaking staff that we didn’t make a reservation because we were told we did not need to, she said sorry, just a moment, then she only took care of 4 more groups with reservation and we patiently waited for 10 more minutes with no explanation before we left the place.
My feeling is that you probably really need a reservation to eat here, doesn’t matter what the other staff said and they only want to sell the luxurious full course...

What a fantastic dinner! We booked the Kiwami course and it was incredible. You need to reserve in advance, and I recommend sitting outside if you can. It was cold when we went, so they had kotatsu set up and it was so cozy and nice. I'd never had sukiyaki like this before, and the fusions of ingredients throughout the course were so interesting and delicious. They also recommend you mix the egg yolk with their sweet potato puree for dipping the meat and make sure you do! It is expensive, but it's a very unique experience sitting outside next to the river, and eating this delicious meal. The best dining experience ever! 10 stars for service. Food was excellent
We had a change of plan and arrived two hours early ahead of our reservation. Not sure if they will seat us but we waited for the restaurant to open. When the restaurant opened, we were greeted by a very friendly staff member. She said no problem but will take a little while to prepare the food.
I felt we were treated the same as if we were the local people. From the welcome drum greeting to providing hanten to us. Some restaurant will skip these things for foreigners.
At the end, she even got a taxi for us.
Highly recommend this restaurant.
