Forest Adventure Hakone — Attraction in Hakone

Can't recommend this place highly enough. A must do if you have 10-20 year olds in your group. A very appreciated break from temples and shopping for them. Calling it a zipline adventure kind of undersells it IMO. We do ziplines on many vacations and it's usually a safety briefing followed by a few lines for maybe 15 minutes. Here my kids spent more than an hour up in the trees crossing rope bridges and highwires and other obstacles along with ziplining between platforms, hooked into a safety harness the whole time. Extremely good value for the time and the price.

Also, taking the local train to get there just makes it better, such a neat train stop and scenic path to get to the location. You get a coupon for a nearby hot springs, so consider making plans to take advantage of that after your adventure for...

This was soooo fun! I've been looking for a long time for something like this, and it exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely be back. They have English safety videos and don't cancel reservations just because it's raining (we went in the rain and had a fantastic time). If you don't reserve, though, I think that's fine as long as they have room. The course was exciting and challenging, and the staff was kind and accommodating. The ones on shift spoke a little English, but everything was pretty self-explanatory, so if you don't speak Japanese, don't let it keep you from going on this adventure. My only advice though: if it's wet, bring a change of clothes, and DEFINITELY buy the gloves. Also take the bus up from the station. It takes like quintuple the time...

You must come here if you visit Hakone! Only a short walk from the main strip up from Hakone-Yumote Station, the forest has been transformed into a playground. The courses are super fun and you can enjoy climbing, swinging, zip-lining, and balancing on a variety of styles of obstacles. It's so fun to be up in the trees and it is such a unique experience. We did the Adventure course for 3600 yen/person. It took us two hours to complete and we had a blast! I recommend taking the opening slot.
