After a long day of traveling from Tokyo I was bummed to find out that the hotel we were staying at had no vegetarian options. My search returned very limited options, many of which did not sound promising. I'm so glad I came across Box Burger and appreciate the reviews, which put my mind at ease. Service was excellent. The waiter was very nice and friendly and spoke very good English. My husband and I both got the teriyaki veggie burger. It was cooked to perfection. The bun was nicely toasted and the lettuce, tomatoes, and onions were fresh. If it's one thing I would change, it would be to go easy on the mayonnaise or ask for it on the side. The burger ended up being a bit messy so the provided bag to put the burger in came in handy! The fries and onion rings were good as well. We finished it off with Asahi beers. At 1980 yen for each burger + 335 fries + 500 onion rings + 700 each beer, it was a pricey meal. However, with the limited options it was worth it and the food and service were outstanding.

If you are looking for a stop for a burger in Japan, this is the place. Fritters were good but are whole fried small fish so be aware when you order them. I had the box burger and the Mt Fuji coke. The Fuji Summit craft cola was a refreshing citrus and ginger (?) combination that was perfect with the grease from fish fritters and the burger. My friend had the Bacon Egg Burger. It came with a side of a few skin on fries that were also excellent. Not too salted and crispy. The egg was perfect and not runny and not too dry. The bacon is Canadian bacon, which is like pork belly. Not crispy but really good. We were so impressed we ordered shakes (vanilla and very berry). Both were excellent. We both agreed it is one up there with one of the best burgers we have had (and we live just outside of Chicago). It being walking distance to the lighted Sakura blossom path makes this worth a special trip. Their English is flawless if that is a concern. Also a member of the vegan society.

The vegan burger was very tasty. However, my friend who had the chicken burger said it wasn't the best burger they've had. The onion rings weren't up to the mark and were very very greasy. The service was also quick and good. The japanese staff were courteous however the foreign staff(a woman) at the counter came across as a bit cold. The tables for two people are placed too close to each other which makes it difficult to move around without the ones sitting around you having to shift their chairs. They provided paper covers to place the burgers while eating, which was very convenient. The prices are quite high at around 1600 JPY per burger.

I'm currently still here after eating dinner, writing the review now before I forget because it's so well deserving. Our waiter was actually from Los Angeles so he spoke perfect English and was very entertaining to talk to. But I just had the best burger of my life, bar none. I haven't had a better in the States. The burgers were phenomenal, the onion rings crispy, milkshakes delicious, craft soda amazing, and the cream soda was like it was made by an early 1900s soda jerk. I had no idea that I would have the best burger of my life halfway across the globe. Can't recommend this place enough.

Having been in Japan eating strictly Japanese cuisine for 6 days now, we decided to take a small break and try a restaurant with American-style food. We were so incredibly happy that this was our choice as it was the best burger outside of the U.S. that we have ever had. The fries taste like they do in Europe as they use healthier oil to fry them in most likely (yay!), and the Caesar salad was incredibly good and heavy on the anchovy taste, which we love. I would recommend this place to those traveling who want a little taste of America. Waygu beef all the way!

We were so lucky to come across this little gem to tonight in the back streets of Hakone. We were so hungry and late back from our big day of exploring and they kindly let us eat and whipped our dinner out in record time. I know we are in Japan but it was seriously one of the best burgers we have eaten and the traditional seating on Tatami mats in a beautiful, traditional Japanese home. The owners were wonderfully accommodating and had a lovely chat with my daughters. Don’t miss this little diamond in Hakone!
