Sawayaka Hamamatsu Entetsu — Restaurant in Hamamatsu

I went here for a late lunch/early dinner during a day trip to Hamamatsu last month. I heard that the Hamburg steak here was delicious and after eating two for myself I have to agree.

Sawayaka is a chain of family restaurants in the Shizuoka region so you will only be able to try this if you go to Hamamatsu and any nearby areas from there. It’s a bit of a trek but I think it’s worth it.

The Hamburg steak was hot, fresh and very meaty. The sauce that came on top was also very nice. The size of the steaks themselves was also bigger than I expected so I felt very full afterwards. I would say this place has the best hamburg steaks of all the family restaurants that I have been too.

This place is very popular so the wait can be anywhere between 60-90 minutes on a busy day. Best to get there early.

Not such a pleasant experience. Waiter was pushing and even impose us to make a group toast, then the hamburg meat was not as good as publicized, we figured it was a low quality mix, then they didn't ask how do you like the meat to be cooked, they just brought it plainly rare and drop over the sauce without even asking. We will try it in another place but the one in Hamamatsu Entetsu bldg. we won't visit never again... Not...

85-min wait on a weekday in the evening; but the restaurant is situated in a large department store complex, so we went shopping to pass time after obtaining a numbered ticket (which includes a QR code that can confirm pending wait time).
