BRISK STAND HIMEJI — Restaurant in Himeji

We ordered two burgers, one single and one double. Inside the restaurant, there was a large menu with photos of the burgers. We understood that toppings had to be added separately. What wasn't clear was that, for the restaurant, the bun was considered a topping. The girl explained that the fries were small and that customers usually ordered one large portion. To our surprise, we received two plates with just the patties and the “large fries”... for around ¥4,900.

Honestly, in 35 years and after traveling to several countries, I have never seen a burger that offers bread as a topping!!!! The meat had large pieces of gristle and a lot of water, no sauce!!! In short, for ¥4,900, this is the first time I have been disappointed by a restaurant in Japan.

The staff are super super nice and you can tell they didn't mean to do anything wrong. Nevertheless, I think the concept needs to be reviewed. Good...

The first impression was really cool. Great initial service and treatment. Then it kind off went down hill. The burgers were served and drinks forgotten ( it was not busy, in fact it was just the two of us). After burgers were served we noticed a lot of smoke in the place which was not too nice. As to the burgers, they are not bad but also not life changing. The size is rather petite and flavour could have had more "fun" in it. Overall maybe slightly overated place, or just a bad day. This place was a let down. Burgers are on the small side more like a slider. Meat quality is bad! There were chunks of hard fat/cartilage in all our burgers. I ordered the one with Gorgonzola cheese and that is a pricey mistake. Basically it was more than double the cheeseburger price for just the cheese!!
