After a long, hot tour of Himeji Castle, stumbling upon Kushiyaki Kobe Beef, located just across from the castle entrance, was the perfect treat. The moment I stepped up to the counter, I was greeted with warm, friendly service (excellent English) and small a cool, comfortable seating area offered the perfect break from the heat (there are only 6 seats).
What truly stole the show was the perfectly prepared selection of Wagyu and Kobe beef — every bite was tender, flavorful, and cooked to absolute perfection. The quality of the meat was outstanding, and the care that went into preparing each cut was evident. Even better, the prices were a fraction of what you’d expect to pay for this quality in the United States, making it not only a culinary treat but also a great value.

I definitely recommend...

That said, it serves up great Kobe and Wagyu meat. The rice bowls they serve basically was beef (a seemingly generous amount) set atop some fagrant rice. It's almost cheating with the meat tasting so good. The meats melted in your mouth as you eat it and it was as simple as that. Pure joy.
If you're making your way to the Himeji castle, stop by this establishment - it's about another 50 steps to the traffic junction to the castle gates.
If there are no seats, they do take-outs too so just buy it and find some nice place overlooking the castle at the park behind to eat it -...
