Of all the matcha ice creams I tried throughout my trip in Japan, this one was the best by a long shot! It was really creamy and had an amazing matcha flavour that came through beautifully, which a lot of other places you can barely taste anything. It had more of a texture of a really good italian gelato which was superb. The lady running the store was one of the most kind hearted souls I came across! She makes the icecream herself which you can definitely taste the love she put into it. I had the set which came with a piece of matcha cake which was made by her daughter and some green tea which were both lovely! The view from the first floor overlooking the himeji castle was just a cherry on top. I would highly recommend anyone coming to himeji to make a stop here to get a fix of some of the best matcha icecream...

This is the perfect little store to stop and enjoy some refreshing matcha ice cream with a great view of the castle you have just visited or are about to visit.

The owner was so generous and helpful, encouraging us to go upstairs and adjusting the windows to improve our view.

We also enjoyed some green tea with home made snacks, which were both delicious.

Took away a matcha soft serve and I thought the price was really reasonable for 350 yen or so! The lady at the counter was really nice and friendly and the whole place smelled heavenly of buttery financiers.

The soft serve ice cream was a paler shade of green and was more sweet than bitter. The ice cream was really smooth though. If you'd like sweeter ice creams, this store is the one. Otherwise, I'd recommend the...
