Wagyu beef restaurant is located on the outskirts of hiroshima. Be careful if you decide to go as the bus services stop after a certain hour so when we left, we had to walk 20 mins to the bus station to get back to the city centre.
When we arrived, I believe the restaurant got the bookings mixed up or something happened as they definitely weren't expecting us, but I definitely have my booking confirmation. After waiting for 10 minutes or so, they managed to squeeze out an extra seat for us around the table. Later on , we saw the other customer they were actually expecting, and he was ended up seated on the 2nd table on his own. Set course menu. Took around 3 hours in total. The chef cooks all the meat in front of you and explains what to eat each one with and what each one is (limited english, but that's fine), which was nice. Most of the food was really nice, especially the beef that was cooked in front of you. The 1st course and the rice with egg were also very nice, though the curry at the end was only okay (personal preference).
It doesn't seem like a lot of food, but due to the long period of time, you will get full by the end.
For certain cuts of meat, they will bring the meat out and ask if you would like to take a photo,...
Read moreFirst ever bad review in Japan. I have never experienced such horrific service here. Our reservation was at 8pm, when we arrived sharp at 8pm we were told to wait for 10 minutes, however ended up waiting for 20+ minutes. The chef did not even apologize for keeping us waiting, this is just not proper Japanese mannerism / time management. Our dinner was started and was being served a meat dish at a pace so quick that we were finished by 9:00pm. We were not served 3 meat sashimi dishes as per listed on the menu on their website nor 9-10 meat dishes but instead 6-7. Their staff also just shoved us our bill and stood by our side as soon as our dessert was served, as if they can’t wait to get our money and shove us out the door right away. Mind you we did not complain at all even though we were kept waiting for 20 minutes at the start, so what did we do to deserve this kind of appalling...
Read moreFirst, with no sense of exaggeration, this was my best dining experience I've had so far. I have had many meals throughout the world and this ranks in the top three. It has beat out my experiences in Toyko and Kyoto. In all honesty, you should try to eat here before he gets a Michelin star and it gets more experience.
The food is incredible. You'll never find a more perfect beef in Hiroshima at least. The meat melts in your mouth in a way I've never experienced before. It was so much better than my experiences in Kobe.
The meal is very expertly planned as well. The dishes come out in a well planned order. You never experience any downs and the menu just builds on itself.
The only thing I didn't enough as much was the sandwich, but I still enjoyed it. Just not as much as...
