When we entered the izakaya without a reservation, the staff at the entrance said, "We'll prepare a table for you, please wait a moment." However, even after they finished attending to a customer who had just paid their bill, they kept us waiting while engaging in casual conversation with other staff members (which seemed like talking negatively about other colleagues). It was unnecessary for us to wait in the relatively empty restaurant.
Later, we were seated at the counter, and the same staff member, who was a woman with a larger body size, asked me, a Japanese person who had been speaking Japanese all along, if I could understand Japanese presumably because I was with a Caucasian friend. It was a very unpleasant experience.

Was standing at the entrance for an hour and nobody came and explained to us. While we were finally seated, we asked to have all you can eat grilled oysters & all you can drink. The first answer we got was quite reasonable, that all you can eat must be reserved in advance. For the all you can drink, the waitress said we couldn’t order it and we just didn’t understand as we saw other customers who dine at the same time order. Then we ordered a la carte grilled oysters, most of the tools were missing, but we saw the tools was served when the food came on the other table, we just didn’t bother ask anymore. What a disappointing dinner! Please think twice if you want...

I would give it less stars, but there isn't a lot of choice on Miyajima. Recommend avoiding dinner here. Just eat roasted oysters in the shopping...
