This was a phenomenal place for lunch for our group of 6, with 2 toddlers included! We loved it so much we actually came twice in 2.5 days in Kamakura!
The restaurant is located upstairs, so we had to either leave stroller downstairs or bring it up (one baby was sleeping). They had a few hot tables for cooking, and it was a lovely experience. The vibe was great, English pop songs were playing, chefs were so nice and chatted with us. English menu available via QR code, easy to order.
We ordered a few options of monja, okonomiyaki, yakisoba, teppanyaki and all of them were delicious. The edamame was surprisingly tasty. Portions were generous. Kids had their own bowl, staff supportive and friendly. Note only some dishes were made at our table, some were delivered hot and premade (newly cooked by chef in kitchen) for efficiency. Prices were reasonable, generous seafood portions.
Overall very happy, would...
Read moreMy husband and I were literally walking around this whole area looking for somewhere to eat. This restaurant is one of the few places you see as soon as you get off the train station too! Can’t miss them because theyre outside advertising very full of energy!:) We skipped on it after looking at the menu and realized we weren’t craving monjayaki(never had it prior to coming here).
Anyway after walking for about an hour we ate somewhere and regret it. Came back to this monja place and ordered two things: 1 monjayaki with roe+rice cakes+cheese and pork yakisoba. I wish I got the one with more seafood, wouldda been soo good lol
It was soooo good! I liked keeping it on the griddle for a little bit of charred cheese. And the energy inside is so nice!! Loved the service and the food. Will try their other location since we wont be back in this area...

This is a restaurant worth visiting when you are in the area. Located next to the clock tower and 100m from the Kamakura train station on the JR line . I have a suggestion for the owners, though. In Google, the first word of the restaurant's name should be 'Shiraiwa'. When searching in Google maps, words like 'Asakusa' and 'Monja' lists other restaurants ahead...
