I visited this restaurant on my second day in Japan, and I left with very mixed feelings. To start with the positives: the food itself was genuinely delicious. The wagyu burger I ordered was flavorful, juicy, and cooked perfectly. It really highlighted the quality of Japanese beef, and I could tell that care went into preparing it. On top of that, the location of the restaurant offered a lovely view, which made for a relaxing and enjoyable dining atmosphere. At first, I thought this would be a memorable meal for all the right reasons.
Unfortunately, my experience took a turn for the worse. Halfway through the burger, I discovered a hair inside it. This was shocking, not only because food contamination is unpleasant anywhere, but because I had not expected something like this to happen in Japan—a country celebrated worldwide for its meticulous standards of hygiene and food preparation. To find a hair in my meal here felt extremely disappointing.
What made things worse was how the situation was handled. I discreetly pointed it out to the staff. They were polite, apologized, and took the burger away, but there was no real sense of service recovery. I had already eaten half of it by the time I found the hair, so the experience was already ruined. Yet, when the bill arrived, I was surprised to see that I was still charged for the burger that had been taken away. I did not want to make a scene or cause embarrassment, especially as a tourist in a foreign country, but inside I was genuinely upset. It felt unfair and careless that such a serious lapse in hygiene was not addressed more thoughtfully.
As a visitor to Japan, I had high expectations, not just for the food but also for the renowned hospitality. This incident left me conflicted. On one hand, the flavors and the view were excellent, and I can understand why others might enjoy this place. On the other hand, the hair in my food and the lack of proper response from the staff made it difficult for me to fully appreciate the experience.
Overall, I am torn in my opinion of this restaurant. It has the potential to be great—the food tastes wonderful and the setting is lovely—but the hygiene issue and the poor handling of it were unacceptable. For me, it overshadowed everything else. I truly hope this was a one-off mistake, but as it stands, I cannot confidently...
Read moreThe staff in the store clearly don't care about racial discrimination. When paying the bill, due to a staff error, our bill was mixed up with that of a local couple, causing me to pay their bill. Just as I was about to go to the staff to clarify, I happened to see the husband of that couple paying. I wanted to promptly remind the staff about the mix-up, but this man mistakenly thought I was cutting in line and started yelling at me—even after I apologized countless times. What's worse, he kept badgering me about which country I was from, shouting insults at me over and over again. It was extremely upsetting. As a young girl alone in the store, I felt completely helpless, yet none of the staff stepped forward to explain why I was approaching them; they all just stood by silently, doing nothing as I was bullied. In the end, I was so upset I was about to cry and wanted to argue, but they just brushed it off and told us to leave. How could you, a grown man, be so irrational as to scream at a young girl over a mere misunderstanding, hound her about her nationality, and keep hurling abuse even after she apologized repeatedly? How dare you treat someone with such blatant hostility and disrespect? Your behavior is not just rude—it's despicable and...
Read moreVery disappointing experience.
The ordering system at this restaurant is extremely confusing. Items ordered by the previous customer appeared in our order history. When we contacted the staff to cancel, they were impatient and insisted it was our mistake. Only after we showed the order time as evidence did they agree to cancel it.
The food itself was decent—the rice in the wagyu beef rice had good flavor, but the beef did not taste like wagyu at all; it was tough and lacked the expected quality. Also the table next to us (2 Japanese customers) had over 10 clams in their pasta, while ours had only 7. The snow crab pasta has similar discriminatory treatment.
The service was by far the worst I’ve experienced in Japan. The staff were rude and even touched my phone without permission. At checkout, they tossed the receipt at me, which was incredibly disrespectful.
Overall, poor service. The taste is passable, but definitely not worth...
