Venus Cafe — Restaurant in Kamakura

Nice burger and taco joint on the Kamakura Inamuragasaki beachwalk adjacent to a somewhat paltry thrift shop. Orders are made through your own phone by scanning a QR code that links to a menu. The process is relatively easy as long as the QR code works, which it did not for me on my Android phone but it did on an iPhone.

Many items were not available for lunch, which was disappointing. We wound up getting the same Geisha Burger which is distinct for the wasabi sauce. I wish they served more fries with the burger but the burger itself was surprisingly good and I would give that a thumbs up.

As someone who lived in Texas for 5 years, I do feel the Texas Mexican label is misleading. You will not find a menu that is significantly reflective of Tex Mex. So don't go in with those expectations. The menu items on Tabelog did not jibe with the majority of available food items when we visited so be prepared for that.

On a clear day, I highly recommend getting a table by the windows. The view of the open waters is spectacular. Most of the seating however is indoors and can be a bit dim away from...

1 - the food was ok, but the spaghetti of my wife had not so much taste and, super spicy and they FORGOT our order, the waiter came to check if everything was ok and saw one order missing, and he looked scared, we waited for the spaghetti almost 40 minutes

2 - almost 50% of the food was soldout, bro... really? We walked so much for soldout food?

3 - the waiter barely talk to you and look in our eyes, I am not asking to be treated as an important person. But at least look in my eyes when you talk

4 - it is too expensive, there are many places around kamakura so much better and so much more cheaper

We just moved to kamakura and 100% we will never comeback here anymore

We ordered the taco rice, fried chicken burger, and classic burger sets. The taco rice was quite nice. It has a taco shell bowl, which I really liked, and a good mix of toppings. Only down side was the canned salsa. The burgers appear nice, and come with crispy fries, but the main flavor you get is the massive amounts of raw onion, on both. The meat patty looked anemic. Quite thin and small. The bacon on my classic was a tasteless pink limp wisp of ham or something, dubiously bacon. It did have potential, but the flaws are glaring. The chicken burger has a lot of potential I thought, but the onion, gads.

If this place were quite a bit cheaper, it would perhaps counter a lot of the flaws, but with a nontrivial price, it's a bit...
