Absolutely amazing experience. This was 100% what we were looking for with a course Japanese style meal. We got there a bit after 8/ 8:30 pm but they opened up the kitchen for us gave my husband and I drinks and our kids pop, we had wontons, pork, snails, bamboo, eggplant, deep fried crab/ omelette inside the crab shell with veggies, sushi and kelp boiled which went from dark green to bright green and dessert. Our kids loved it! They took photos of us and let us sign the guest book and they gave us gifts (skarf/ cup) and chocolate chip bread for the next morning. It was a more expensive meal near ¥5000 per person but honestly worth it! It was the highlight of our trip! I do recommend Google or Apple Translate but it's amazing how you can get by knowing 10 to 20 Japanese phrases. Worth a stop in. The bar style seating made the experience even greater. Also they love Canadians. When we said we liked 'Fish' on the Translate App. They said come on...

The restaurant was a bit dirty, with us seated at a table that had not been cleaned of ash trays or sticky drippings from the night before. We ended up being the only customers the entire night-- not much of an izakaya atmosphere. Take the foreigner reviews with a...
Read morePossibly the best travel dinner experience in our lives. This place is run by the most kind family that filled our hearts and stomachs. I had THE BEST tuna I have ever had, even compared to expensive sushi restaurants we visited in Tokyo. As American travelers that only speak English, we didn't know what to expect when we entered, but couldn't be happier we stopped in. There was no menu, but we were asked if we wanted what they were making, as they made it. Hopefully if you stop in you'll get the eggplant, it...
