Grill Otsuka has a very homely atmosphere.
The owners have considered the space inside their store. I only went to one section (to dine), but I could sort of see another section of the store which I did not walk to. The section that I sat in was able to seat approximately 30 people comfortably. We were not squished at all. For example: other places would seat 8 people at a desk, but here they have considered customer 's space with other customers.
I tried their popular, most sought out Hanton Rice - perhaps I am not a fan of omuraisu, but I found the dish quite ordinary. I was impressed with the menu and how there was 3 sizes of rice for their ever popular hanton rice!
The portion sizes were decent and value for money.
The staff were very helpful and answered all my questions.
The toilet seat was interesting because when I opened the door to use the toilet, the seat cover automatically went up by itself to uncover the seat! I have never had this experience anywhere in Japan!

Read moreWe asked for recommendation and they tell us to try Hanson rice, and hamburger set ( very hungry). They also recommended us to choose the small size because regular was too big. They were very nice and friendly. We really liked the Hanson rice and it s something diferent to eat than other japanese food so that s great. But we also really loved the 2hamburgers set. The set includes rice, delicious soup, salad and the 2 incredibles hamburgers with some potatoes, meat, and carots. The hamburger s sauce was also incredible. HAMBURGERS WERE AMAZING, i completly recommend to try them, however maybe is too much for one person, you can share it with another person. Price was very good. Very...
Read moreThe speciality 'Hanton Rice' is a local delicacy of Kanazawa, consisting of omelette rice topped with fried fish or small fried shrimps, seasoned with tartar sauce and ketchup. 'Han' means Hungarian and 'ton' means tuna in French, a dish born from a unique idea. The restaurant is a favourite with locals and is a place where the common history of Kanazawa...
