Kaisendon Ichiba — Restaurant in Kanazawa

I had crab and shrimp roe on rice and partner had an assortment (crab, tuna whitebait i think) on rice, both arrived with a small bowl of miso fish soup. You can have as much tea as you like from a vending machine. In theory you order via a tablet. I wasn't quite sure how but staff was very helpful and pleasant. You choose portion size as well, medium was enough for me. They also asked me for wasabi level of hotness. Its true that the fish portions are on small side but this is reflected in the price. It was delicious except that the wasabi was a bit concentrated in one area, or maybe its meant to be. Anyway considering price/value i think this is as good as it gets...

I’d give it a 4.5 if I could. I was in the mood for some sushi at the market, and walked by this place and gave it a try. There is a varied menu, and once you’re seared, you can order from a tablet. I went with the salmon rice bowl (サーモン丼ぶり), and as you’d expect, the fish was fresh and delicious. They serve black throat seaperch (のどぐろ) miso soup, which is a speciality in the area. This is a rip off. This restaurant is located in a very busy street and attracting lots of visitors, but their price and quality of food is not matched. We ordered several types of donburi, which is a rice bowl with raw fish, but the amount of fish is very little yet the price is 1-2k per bowl.
