one of the oldest bakery in karuizawa, dating back to 1951. their closing time is 17:00, but when i visited around 13:00, most of the bread was already sold out. i asked if this was usual, and they explained that since the next day was a store holiday, they hadn't baked as much. i also inquired about their most popular bread, and they mentioned that it was what john lennon used to buy - their baguette and toast. i tried the cheese toast, and it was really good. definitely lived up...
