It feels sad to make it one star when the male owner is so friendly and respectful. The not so young female working there greeted me with hostility. I had gone here 3-4 times before with my husband and dog, and every time the man greeted us kindly, allowed our dog in alongside his dog, and made friendly conversation. Then on my latest time there, the lady told me my dog wasn’t allowed in, talked to me in such a way that makes her seem very inhospitable, then when I was trying to toss out some excess ice cubes (she said she can’t do light ice or no ice drinks), I misread the kanji for ice as water on their trash cans, she saw me and started yelling from inside to outside stomping her feet all the way and shouted at me like a child that was told no. Literally a grown woman who is supposed to be trained in customer service was yelling at me to not throw the ice away. I was so shocked, I thought the ice had killed someone. I completely understand not tossing a cup of water away into a trash can, but I figured a couple ice cubes would be ok considering when you are done drinking from a disposable cup and toss it, you would still have just a little left over inside your cup to make the trash wet regardless. In any case, I’m astonished by her childish tantrum and lack of customer facing service.
Also, really as an aside, their coffee is not good. But even taking this point plus only the male barista, I would still have given him 4/5 stars. But honestly this lady just takes the crown of ridiculousness and if he doesn’t train her, then he is partially to...

Ps: Must try the coffee roasted bread if u are a coffee lover, just...
Read moreWent here with my husband for a quick coffee fix and we were greeted so warmly by the owner! They had a spacious parking at the back. We went inside and ordered our coffees and the owner spoke English fluently and really made an effort to converse with us. The cafe had a cozy and welcoming vibe, similar to its owner/s. We really enjoyed the coffee and chatting with the owner. We promised we would come back when we're in Karuizawa again. Looking forward to...
