A great restaurant run by a hotel group. There is long queue usually, you are recommended to take a ticket from the machine at the entrance, then walk around in the local area, and check on their website to know the status of the queue. This is very user friendly and saves travellers’ time.

Went in autumn when the red leaves hit the area. The view looking out was great! They provided seasonal menu and there is something different every time you go. Taste of every dish was great. Beef dishes are must haves, so tender and juicy.

For tourists, they give you a piece of instruction telling you how to enjoy the dish. It was a fun experience for foreigners.

Highly recommended to go with...

Conveniently located next to the Hoshino hot springs and definitely popular amongst the locals and tourists. Arrived close to 1pm and took a queue number - we were told that it would be a 1h wait with around 20 groups ahead of us but in the end, the wait was around 30 mins! Appreciated that there were some seats at the waiting area too.

The dining area is pretty big and not all the tables were occupied while we were there. I tried the salmon sashimi which was quite fresh while my husband had the tempura soba - he really enjoyed it and said the pumpkin was especially delicious. Service was also prompt and we were served within 10 mins...

We are from Taiwan.

We are family and at there 1:30 pm, The restaurant has an on-site reservation system, and there is a machine at the front door to make reservations. People have to book and pick up their tickets from there, the staff will say the number and if it happens to be your number they will direct you to your seat.

The menu is ordered online, so you must have a smartphone and the Internet. WiFi is provided in the restaurant, so there is no need to worry about network problems.

We ordered the set menu and hotpot, which tasted good but the portion was too small for me.

I finished it myself and didn't feel...

Karuizawa Lazy Travel Guide: Everything You Need to Know Summer just isn't complete without a trip to Karuizawa! Having lived in Japan for six years and visited Karuizawa five times, I'm sharing a super detailed itinerary and guide for your reference! 1⃣️ Transportation I've listed three transportation options for you to choose from based on your needs. ⚠️ Remember to book your round-trip tickets in advance for all options! 🚝 Most Time-Saving! Shinkansen (Highly Recommended) • Fare: Approximately 6,000 yen one-way • Travel Time: 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes • Booking: The Hokuriku Shinkansen stops only at Tokyo Station and Ueno Station in Tokyo, directly reaching Karuizawa Station. You can book online through the [JR East Japan Online Booking System] or purchase at JR station counters. Seats may be limited on weekends, so it's best to book early! 🚌 Most Affordable! Highway Bus (Ideal for those with no rush and on a budget) • Fare: Approximately 2,500-3,000 yen one-way • Travel Time: About 3 hours • Booking: You can reserve through the official websites of major bus companies or travel apps like Rakuten. Tickets are also available at bus ticket counters in Tokyo Station, Shinjuku Station, and Ikebukuro. 🚗 Most Convenient! Self-Drive (Best for those who dislike hassle) • Travel Time: 1 hour 25 minutes (131 km) • Route: Nerima IC ➡️ (Kan-Etsu Expressway) ➡️ Fujioka JCT ➡️ (Joshin-Etsu Expressway) ➡️ Shiibuki Karuizawa IC 2⃣️ Recommended Attractions ⚠️ After arrival, it's recommended to rent an electric bike to explore Karuizawa. A two-day, one-night rental costs 3,000 yen, less than 140 RMB, making it both comfortable and affordable! (See p2) Day 1 📍 Senju Art Museum (Highly Recommended) (See p3) Admission: 1,500 yen. Hidden in the serene forest of Karuizawa, this museum was designed by the renowned architect Ryue Nishizawa. Through large glass windows, you can enjoy the changing seasons, feeling as if you're inside a series of dynamic paintings. Art and nature blend seamlessly here. Note: Photography is prohibited inside the museum. 📍 Stone Church Experience the coexistence of people, architecture, and nature. It's quite interesting, but photography is not allowed inside the church. 📍 Highland Church (See p4) Great spot for photos, often hosts events that require reservations. 📍 Elm Street Town (See p5), Village食堂 (See p6) These churches are close to each other, so you can visit them together. Afterward, head to the Village食堂 in Elm Street Town for a meal, but note that reservations are required. 📍 Hoshino Onsen (Hot Spring) (See p7) Highly recommended for its great value! 📍 Return to Hotel Day 2 📍 Shiraito Falls (Highly Recommended) (See p8) One of the largest waterfalls in Japan, with stunning views and great photo opportunities! 📍 Ginza Street Shop and eat to your heart's content. 📍 Karuizawa New Art Museum (See p9) Designed by Kengo Kuma, the Birch Church is a highlight. Note that some works are not allowed to be photographed, and the second floor requires an additional fee. 📍 Kumobaike Pond Beautiful in all seasons, perfect for photos. 📍 Outlet Mall (See p10) Enough said, just go and shop! 🏠 Return Trip 3⃣️ Detailed Schedule and Essential Costs For reference only 😬 (See p11) #JapanFreeTravel #Karuizawa #JapanTravelGuide
