Usagi no mori — Restaurant in Karuizawa

We had a lovely family dinner at Usagi no Mori. It’s a cute old Japanese restaurant filled with many different types of bunny objects/decorations. It feels like stepping back in the past!The owners were super friendly and gave us good suggestions. We ordered à Katsu curry, a pasta napolitana and a beef stew; everything was very nicely done and it was really big portions for Japan! The beef was super tender, really enjoyed. Food was really good! Never tried burger steak like this before! It was tender, juicy and pure beef (no extenders) 👍🏻 even the veggies was cooked really well! It might not look appealing but i tell you, its really a must try! Hawaiian pork was good as well but I’d say the burger steak was a much better choice!

Gave the service a 4/5 because it took a while for the food to come out since there is only one cook inside the kitchen.

Gave the ambiance a 4/5 as well because of all the smoke inside the restaurant. They need better exhaust inside their kitchen. Came out smelling like food!

There’s not many restaurants open near the Karuizawa station, apart from those in the outlet. Saw the high ratings on Tabelog so we paid a visit to the restaurant. It didn’t disappoint at all. The hamburger and steak we ordered were both excellent. Even the salad and service dish in the dinner set tasted amazing. A big full set at a very affordable price. More importantly, the owner was very kind and hospitable, making us feel like home. Definitely one of the best yoshoku restaurants I’ve been to. Will pay a visit again when I’m in...
