Azzurro 520 — Restaurant in Kashiwa

Update: Went back around Jan/Feb 2023 for evening dinner- seems the table charge has gone. Slight changes to the menu (and the menu is now on an app you scan using the QR code on the table. It will translate, but it doesn't do an amazing job on translating as it's machine translated... better than nothing, but defo not perfect!). Prices still seem a little high for what it is and portion size, but the food is good and well made.

--------------previous review------------------- Table charge is 300 yen per person and you get a small entre (2 slices of thick cut ham with a small slice of parmesan type cheese and a little wholegrain mustard). VERY reasonable for a table charge - one of the few times I actually thought it was worth it and good.

They had a special based drink using "cherry" as the theme. I got the cherry liquor with coke and it was good. A little under 600yen, so not too bad for a "cocktail". Food was good. Not crazy priced either. Service staff weren't great at answering questions about the food (in Japanese). Kept having to go ask the kitchen... bit frustrating as their menu isn't exactly huge either. Plus some of the answers proved inaccurate. We had a green salad [came with a peanut based dressing] and a potato based starter. The server described what the potato dish was supposed to be and it was nothing like was described - it was basically creamed potatoes [extremely smooth mashed potatoes] with cheese mixed in. It was nice, but not worth the 660 price tag. If I'd ordered meat, it would've gone well. Also ordered Risotto and a spaghetti dish with some garlic toast [requested the toast to come with the pasta]. Risotto and toast arrived but no sign of the spaghetti. Ate what we had and then kept waiting to see if the spaghetti was going to arrive but with no signs of an ETA we reasoned they'd forgotten. Rather than insist on it, we just asked for it to be cancelled as we needed to go... Witnessed a hushed discussion behind the bar [Maybe they realised, maybe not, not sure] but we received the bill, checked there was no spaghetti, paid, and went on our way. 1度目が良かったので友人と2度目だったのですが、フォンダンショコラを2つ頼んだものがなかなか来ないので言おうとしたら運ばれてきたと思ったら隣の席に置かれました。 まだかなーとやはり遅いので声をかけると、隣の席にあったものを一度さげて、明らかにアイスが溶けた同じものを置かれました。 隣の席の方はコースのデザートだと思ったらしく、写真撮ったりして手はつけていなかったものの、あれはないよねー？と声をかけてきたくらいです。 そして、私たちの席ではチョコレートを上にかけはじめました。え？隣の席ではやらなかったのに？ 正直気持ち悪くて食べられません。 友人はテイクアウトでうちめし柏というサイトで頼んだものを取りに行った時に頼まれていないと言われ、無視されたので運営側に問い合わせると店のミスだったと割引券をもらったが、2度と行きたくないと店長の対応に腹を立てていたので、今回で私も2度と行かないと思います。 ミスは仕方ないですが、その後の対応に問題があるのでは？と強く問いたいですね。 スタッフの教育とかの問題じゃなく、経営者の問題ではないでしょうか。 こんなに嫌な思いをしたけど、友人の結婚の報告も兼ねていたので雰囲気悪くしないために黙って帰りました。 2度と行きません...
