I am originally from the San Gabriel Valley in Los Angeles and grew up on Panda Express. Unfortunately, the quality of Panda Express in Japan has been worse and worse after each visit. This review is being made to the Lazona Kawasaki locations as I was here most recently.
They are very cheap with the amount of food: I ordered a bowl and received a 3/4 sparsely filled small container. Come on now!! In the dictionary, a bowl is defined as "a round, deep dish or basin used for food or liquid." Nowhere in the dictionary does it say, BOX. This amount of food would be acceptable for a Happy Hour mid-day snack. The fact that they sell this as a bowl is downright insulting to the OG Panda Express back in the US.
Also, due to the declining popularity of Panda and lack of turnover, the food is also often stone cold during off peak hours. They might as well install a microwave next to the register so that we can warm up the food, convenience store style.
I love Panda Express but the locations here in Japan are really screwing it up. If I were in charge of marketing at Panda Express headquarters, I would immediately change the name of the Japan locations so that they wouldn't be associated with US locations. They are nowhere close to the quality and hospitality. Get your shi* together Panda Express Japan! (I do realize that the review is in English and they won't understand my frustrations)

Over all not too bad. It satisfies my itch. I do agree that different location does cooks the dish differently. But I am not able to decide which location tastes better or worst.
The portion for sides is not a lot, slightly pricy for additional items but if you’re craving it you kinda have to get it.
The noodles I love it’s what I was craving for so it’s wonderful. Unfortunately I couldn’t pay extra to get a larger portion.
The orange chicken is as many said too hard compared to in Canada/ US.
The mushroom chicken was soft and yummy.
walnuts shrimp is not as crunchy but the flavor is great. Little walnuts but I am not a nuts person so it was okay but if you’d like to compare $$ then it is really overpriced for the few...
Read moreWanted American Chinese food. Went on a weekday for lunch. It wasn't busy. The price has increased while the portion size has decreased. I ordered the bigger plate, which now has less food than it used it, but they serve it in various bowls to disguise the shrinkage. I also got an order of springrolls and an order of cream cheese wontons. The fried rice is standard. The orange chicken is good as usual. The walnut shrimp was better than expected. The cream cheese wonton was just cream cheese. I won't order those again. The spingrolls were standard. Paid...
