I was really thankful that Mouriya was able to slip us in for a 11.30am reservation. For the lunch menu, there are three different types of beef to choose from - Mouriya selected beef, Kobe beef and award-winning beef (Champion of Kobe Beef grade A5 BMS 12), in order of price. For the sets, you will be served a soup, salad, rice or bread, and coffee or tea. The soup was served first and was savoury with small bits of beef. Thereafter, the chef will confirm the meat choice and also show you the meat which will be cooked. You will also be able to indicate your preference for doneness of meat. I got the award-winning ribeye steak (¥21000 for 150g) and this meat was so tender. The first piece is advised to be eaten with salt. Thereafter, you can eat it with all the other condiments like wasabi, black pepper, and garlic chips. I also got the Kobe Beef Finest Rib eye steak (A5) (¥13500 for 150g) to taste the difference. It was not as soft and tender as the award-winning option. There are also grilled vegetables that are prepared such as lotus root, green chilli, eggplant, beansprouts and finely sliced figleaf gourd.
The whole experience was nothing short of amazing, watching the chef skilfully cook the meat and vegetables. It is an experience worth paying for in Kobe. Service staff were also very attentive. However, the atmosphere was let down by other diners who brought their young children who were running about and making very...
Read moreWe had the pleasure of dining at MOURIYA SANNOMIYATEN in Kobe, and I must say, it was an absolutely amazing experience! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, with a rustic yet elegant décor. The service was impeccable; the staff was attentive, knowledgeable about the cuts of meat, and offered fantastic recommendations.
Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the steak itself. We ordered the A5 sirloin, the meat was cooked to perfection, with a beautiful sear on the outside and a tender, juicy interior that practically melted in my mouth. The flavors were expertly seasoned, enhancing the natural taste of the high-quality beef. The menu offered a variety of cuts and preparation styles, catering to different preferences, and each dish was a masterpiece.
To accompany the steak, the wine selection was impressive, offering a perfect pairing for every palate. The side dishes were equally impressive, with flavorful options of vegetable and condiments that complemented the main course wonderfully.
Overall, our experience at this stake house was nothing short of exceptional. It's the kind of place you'll want to visit again and again to savor the incredible flavors and enjoy the top-notch service. If you're a steak enthusiast or simply someone looking for an unforgettable dining experience, I can't recommend this place enough. It's a true culinary gem in the...
Read moreVery unfriendly restaurant for foreign tourists There are only formal services, but in fact they are very repulsive to foreign tourists. Almost no one speaks English. Full reservation is required, but most reservation platforms show that the reservation is full when foreigners make reservations. If you make an appointment on a platform commonly used by Japanese people, you also need to pay a 100% deposit in advance. You must be able to enter the restaurant at the reservation time, even if you arrive only 1 minute early, you cannot enter. The service staff only introduced "This is Kobe beef" to the menu. After saying this, he left. Completely unable to ask details of different dishes. During the meal, strange and disgusting mutual salutes and thanks to the Japanese customers at the adjacent table continued to occur. The quality of the meat and dishes is not reflected in the price, the decor is not high class, and the service quality is abysmal. The quality of the meat, the difference between the 10,000 yen beef here and the 100 yen beef at market is very small. In terms of interior decoration, the oily smoke and noisy environment are the same as those of izakaya. As for the quality of service, tourists who want to be treated badly are very welcome, and it is guaranteed to spoil your good mood in Kobe Port when you step out...
