Lunch at Ocean Place Restaurant in Kobe

On November 17th 2024 we were visiting Kobe harbor area. It was our last day in Japan. Around lunch time we were looking for a restaurant to have lunch. On google maps we found Ocean Place Restaurant which seemed to be a nice place and we walked up to the entrance. There was a sign “with reservation only” and we knew from our travel guide that in such a case you might not get a seat even if the restaurant is not full. And making reservations by phone is very difficult and online is rarely available. I told my wife lets just go in and ask. There we were asked to take a seat and after some questions regarding allergies, that you can only have the full lunch menu and we said the menu is fine and the price is ok we experienced a last look by the cock ( I guess) and we were to our surprise brought to a table with a beautiful view over the harbor. The service was excellent and we had a glass of champaign and later a glass of wine offered by the sommelier. Compared to Germany for this type of restaurant the price for the menu and drinks was very !!!! reasonable. And the food was just excellent. For us it was by far the best meal we had during our two weeks in Japan. And the dessert was just unbelievable.
