Before the store opens there was already a line at 10am which would set you back around 30mins. There’s a security guard to direct back of lines and traffic. All the pork buns are steamed fresh and once you get them in a piping hot bag, you can go to the plaza to devour them whilst standing and it is definitely worth the wait. The buns are juicy and it does remind me of buns made in China but with a Japanese finesse to it. There’s no other options other than pork buns and a great sign of their confidence in their own produce. If you want a sit down or vegetarian option go to their mother store which is across the street see the third photo, and less crowded. There even toilet and you get to have a mushroom filling rather than pork. Highly recommend if you’re in second biggest Chinatown in Japan - Kobe.

The moment these buns arrive, the aroma itself is enough to entice the senses. Their perfectly golden exteriors, hinting at the tender treasures within, are a visual delight, promising a delectable experience. The first bite is sheer bliss. The balance of savory and slightly sweet flavors in the succulent pork filling is nothing short of divine. Each bite reveals a perfect harmony of seasoned pork enveloped in a fluffy, soft bun that's neither too thick nor too thin. What truly sets these pork buns apart is their texture. The delicate fluffiness of the bun contrasts beautifully with the rich, savory pork filling, creating a symphony of textures that dances on the palate. Having sampled these buns multiple times, I can attest to their unwavering quality.

Taste is a subjective matter. But I think this is the most overrated place in Japan. I lined up for 30 minutes for something that won’t eat even if they give them for free. The meat to bun ratio is like 1:3. I taste mostly bland dough and a flavorless and yet salty meat. Don’t be like me, I went in thinking this might be the best nikuman so I bought a dozen. They only sell 6 or 10. I couldn’t even swallow past 3 and I was hungry. If you are smart, don’t waste your money on the street food in Chinatown here. Best to go to a legit sit down restaurant for some decent Chinese food

Went on a Sunday late morning slightly before lunch time and managed to queue for only 10 mins to get the steamed pork buns. The line was moving smoothly and steadily. We ate the pork buns fresh while it’s warm and it tasted delicious! The fillings are nicely seasoned and broth from the fillings will flow out on the first bite if you are not careful. However, the bun texture gets chewy once it is cool down so it’s best to eat it while it’s fresh and warm. The only downside is you will have to find a standing spot in the plaza to eat as there aren’t much seating space around.

Queue: Don’t get excited when seeing a short line in front of the shop. That’s the first one then across small street, there is another. The shop representative would guide you to the correct line. I saw a lot of people queuing up in the wrong line so don’t feel bad about it as long as you follow the rule. Order: 6 buns for ¥600 & 10 buns for ¥1,000 I ordered 10 buns to be worth the wait and I wished I did 6. The bun was rich of flour and less of the meat. It doesn’t meet my expectation. If the queue is long, I suggest just skip this shop.

They sell 6 or 10 pieces for 100 yen per bun. It seems like it's takeout only so there were a long line, but the queue was swift. Taste was made so the food is very hot right away, but it was a bit too oily for my taste. The bun was very soft as well. It is not the most amazing taste I had but it is a good worth for anyone looking to fill their stomach on a budget when in kobechinatown. Ps. A guy in red will guide you to stand behind a second line if the first one is too long
