So , I am Japanese and I visited this restaurant when I was back home with my family for my sister's birthday. First of all, all the staffs in this restaurant is somewhat stuck-up. Seems like few of them are able to speak English, which is a good thing since they have many customers from overseas. But they do not greet with a smile, and are kinda rude. One lady who sat us was rude and we were immediately worried. The staff who grilled our steak didn't even say hi. We were discussing what we should have, he just sat there with no smile. And told us to let him know when we were ready in a very rude way. I was already pissed, but held my tongue. Should have found a manager right away. Most of us in our party works in the food service industry, so how unfriendly he was ,was unbelievable. He did ask how we'd like out steak to be cooked, and cooked it perfectly. When he finished, he didn't say a word and just left ! So I asked one of the male staff and asked nicely, if not greeting the guests at their table to start the service was their norm. The gentleman was very apologetic, and told us he will be training his staffs. He kept repeating how sorry he was, and gave us some desserts for free. Meanwhile, the other female staff was walking around doing things very noisily. When we asked her something, she said she'll be right there, in a very rude way. Seems to us, this restaurant has enough business with customers who are just visiting from other countries or another region of Japan , so they don't really care about how they present themselves. Quite a surprise to us that you would get this kind of service in Japan. Of course, if you are not from here, maybe you wouldn't even notice how rude they are. Overall, we will NEVER come back here personally nor recommend this place to anyone. Quite a shame because food itself is pretty good for the...
Read moreTL;DR: If you have allergies or sensitivities, be cautious as they do not adhere to any standards for accommodating such needs.
I informed the only English-speaking staff member that I’m lactose intolerant. He assured me that he would notify the cooks, and they would prepare my portion without butter before starting on my party’s meal. He spoke to the staff, and they supposedly understood. However, when they started cooking, the chef dropped a dollop of butter on the grill. I stopped them and asked the English-speaking waiter to help translate. The cook realized his mistake, disposed of the butter, and wiped the grill with a clean towel. Honest mistake, no problem. He then cooked the veggies. Next, he placed another dollop of butter on the grill. Again, I had to stop him to clarify. The same thing happened, and the English-speaking waiter had to translate. The cook wiped the grill with the same towel and cooked the other veggies. The next cook, responsible for my steak, used the same utensils. I didn’t realize the cross-contamination until I tasted it and noticed a faint butter flavor. I informed the staff again, asking them to ensure no more mistakes. The cook told the next cook, a younger one, responsible for the bok choy and bean sprouts. The young cook started to portion out the veggies and was about to add butter when I stopped him. I was flabbergasted. At this point, I had to speak up and say stop everything. After a few back-and-forth translations, he finally cooked it the right way. However, I ended up giving the veggies to my partner due to the risk of cross-contamination.
The meal was mediocre, and with all the issues I encountered, I would not recommend this place. That night, I ended up in the toilet. I should have been more attentive, but I didn’t expect them to take allergies and...
Read moreI am a tour representative from Thailand. Last December 6, 2024, I had a group of 14 customers go to have lunch at Steak Land Kobe. My guide called the restaurant to inform them that our group would be arriving later than our reservations. When we arrived at the restaurant, the chef started cooking food for the group to eat. Our group has already informed the restaurant that they will reserve 2 Kobe beef set meals per person and 1 pork and seafood set meal per person, including dessert. The restaurant service was very poor, the restaurant staff rushed our group to eat as quickly as possible because the restaurant wanted to close for rest. While eating as a group, we looked at the time and saw that we could still eat and there was still enough time. So we ordered an alcoholic drink. But the store employee said they were unable to provide service because of a last order. Importantly, the staff informed that they do not serve dessert but our company has already paid. Our group tried very hard to understand the services of this store. And even more unfortunate, while eating lunch, one of our customers saw a rat running in the store and went to inform the staff and find a solution. But the store employee replied with rude words: The store already has a machine to repel rats. What should I do? So I want to know if this is what the employees would say back to the customers or not. My customer never received a single apology from the store employee or manager. I never thought that I would receive such poor service from a famous restaurant in Kobe.
So I would like to give an...
