CONA Kumamototen — Restaurant in Kumamoto

I went on Friday night with a reservation for 12 coworkers. The restaurant did not seem to be very busy, and there were many employees working.

A few of my coworker’s pizzas came within 10 minutes of ordering, but others took almost 2 hours. It was impossible to enjoy my food once it arrived because I had to leave for my next appointment. I was late to it because of this restaurant. A very long wait is unacceptable for any restaurant.

We notified the waiter that we hadn’t received our pizzas after an hour, but they didn’t seem to care.

The french fries were quick to arrive, and were delicious. I give 1 bonus star for that, otherwise my review would be only 1 star.

I hope they will prepare better, and cook more efficiently the next time, because the price is not worth waiting...

It says Italian restaurant but really it’s mostly an Izakaya after 6 PM. They have a standard drink charge for each person at a table that does not order any drinks. That’s fine, but they get really forceful about it when you pay if you haven’t ordered anything even though they are going to charge you the standard fee anyway. I was in a rush, so I quickly ordered some food, ate, and wanted to pay. They got Huffy with me about the drink issue. I told them in Japanese, I don’t care if you charge me money just let me pay the bill.

If you drink alcohol then fine, if not I definitely don’t...

Happily surprised to get great and authentic pizza at an affordable price. There is a small seating charge per person and a minimum of 1 drink order required, but overall worth it for a genuine taste of italy. Also pleasantly surprised to see costa coffee being sold which hails from the UK! Highly recommended.

English is on the menu, though it would be nice to see english provided for the toppings as well. Also, Pesto (which is available on request) would be great to add to the...
