I enjoyed option C on the menu. Which was a vegetable curry, a salad, a side dish with Japanese beans, a soy milk soup with mackerel and toasted bread with home made strawberry jamโ€ฆ delicious! The atmosphere was great, the cafe is run by very friendly hospitable hosts from 3 generations who were all happy to share more about Kurashiki. A great place to visit and enjoy their soups! I came back for dinner and enjoyed a different miso pork soups based set with local seasonal vegetables. I was pleasantly surprised by the peanut tofu, which is specialty only found locally in Okayama.

On a cold day coming out of the nearby hotel Royal Park Kurashiki, we stumbled onto this quaint cottage-like cafe run by a kind couple whose avuncular smile was exactly what we needed to quell our fever and fatigue. It is the best. The set was so healing and the atmosphere so sobering that we wished it was our neighbourhood eatery. it is a five star!
