First of all, I want to address a message to tourist which complain about tourist, if you don't want to see tourists then don't come in this area, the whole area is famous for being touristy (tourist from ALL other the world). Try to go where local japanese are living but I bet you would not even know where it is! Second of all, I come to this place quite often and I never had to complain about the service, the food (quality and portion). Now if you are used to Chinese Hot pot where the food keep coming even if you are full then you are in for a disapointment. This restaurant is serving good food and with good portion for regular people who are not starving themselves before going to hotpot/shabushabu/sukiyaki. However if I do not mistaken, Hide proposed a All-you can eat option so if you hungry, dont be miser and choose that one. One more thing... price are reasonnable and do not forget Kyoto is not Hong Kong, Taiwan or Shenzen where you can find very cheap Hotpot. So please dont expect the price to be the same. Again, Hide might not be the best shabushabu in town but it is convenient, reliable, staff is friendly enough but not overwhelming (this is japan after all) and the food is very good at a reasonnable price. I will update my review as we will go there...
Read moreWhen I walked in I was pretty skeptical, but I'm glad I gave this place a chance as it ended up being a pretty good meal. We all opted for the ~4900 yen all you can eat option that featured mostly pork and chicken. We were wondering if we would regret not getting beef, but the pork and chicken had a ton of flavour, and paired nicely with the ponzu sauce. The cuts of the pork were also very good. My only suggestion is to have more options of dishes available for the all you can eat course, as 5000 yen is a pretty hefty price tag. The dessert was some sort of delicious yuzu ice cream which helped end the night off strong.
Everyone working here is really kind and attentive. Especially the younger girl. She was able to speak with us a bit in English which helped our group out immensely, and she was a super hard working young woman. Thank you for the...
Read moreTL;DR: Expensive, decent quality frozen meat, 1500 yen for a beer, misleading prices. I would not go again, and i suggest you to visit another restaurant.
It took them 1.5 hours, 4 different orders from 3 different waiters to order 3 beers and 1 cola, That just screams bad customer service. The food was ok at best. We paid way too much for everything a beer which you can easily get for 600 yen, will cost you 1500 in this place.
Their prices were misleading. They wrote "3900 yen (1-2 persons)", we understand this as, 2 persons can share a meal for 3900 yen, but we had to pay that price TWICE, so 7800 yen for a bad-to-decent quality frozen beef..
I would suggest you going to another place than this. I hope you have a nice visit in this beautiful...
