Read moreI’m writing this review as a foreigner from Canada who had their thirteenth birthday today. Personally as an introverted and picky eater, I enjoyed this experience wholeheartedly! I was lucky enough to have no line :)
Atmosphere: You are provided with space and privacy so you can enjoy your food in peace. I didn’t find it very loud in there either so I was happily able to enjoy my ramen! —————————————— Service: In your cubicle contains a water refilling station and a sheet to fill out your preference in ramen. You are as well, seated facing a small window where the staff cannot see your face or you can’t see theirs either. There is no need for foreigners to talk to anyone, including the staff. The service is quick and efficient. I can’t forget that the staff are also friendly and welcoming! Overall, the service was quite excellent! —————————————— Food: I’m a picky eater and a hater of many things like veggies for example so I don’t have much to say about the toppings. However, the soup was scrumptious and one of the only times I haven’t given the bowl for my dad to drink. The noodles were scrumptious too and is customized well to my preference. I even asked for three more refills because of how much I enjoyed the food :D I’m so glad that we were given an option to customize our ramen bowl.
Overall, I enjoyed this experience very much and I’m more than delighted to...
Read moreI only heard of ichiran from friends but never knew what it actually is... which it appears to be food + an experience. I ended watching a video and reading a guide to fully understand it. This localization also has an English menu which was helpful.
Summary: Food = Delicious and seems very customizable which makes me want to go again. Staff = helpful if you need them! By once again the point seems to be able to eat ramen and not have anyone bother you.
Notes: If you’re an expert, you can do the whole thing without really talking to anyone - which appears to be the point. Not to fret if it’s your first time! The staff at the front would come out and make sure people understand the machine to order your food. I only bought the base ramen (less than 900 yen) but I might try the select 5 (~1500 yen) which lets you select extras. Step by step: Insert money Select food (base, or extras) When done press change (red button?) Take ticket inside and someone will seat you. Fill out sheet for ramen customization - recommended options are dotted :) Place ticket on table and someone will come take it (I didn’t even have to speak!) Wait for food!
If you want extras but didn’t order it on your ticket, you will have to fill out the second sheet they give you and TALK to someone gasp!
Also there’s a facet thing which...
