I mostly don't write reviews unless the service and the hotel were outstanding, good, or bad. In this case, it was a kind of bad, from all the hotels that I stayed in Japan, this is by far, the worst, the only good is the location is well center, that's it. I got to the hotel and went to my room from a long day of travel, and there were only two beds. My reservation was a 3 bed bedroom. Which in the pictures on the hotel website looks bigger, so don't trust the pictures, went to reception and tell them what happen, at first the recepcionist didn't believe me which I found odd, I have to tell him 3 times that there is a missing bed. He was really polite, he told me that he is going to send someone to fix it. Two employees came and pulled the bed from under the bed and left, but I had to arrange the room, because you couldn't walk with the 3 bed and table with two chairs inside the room. So I had to do it myself and not the employees as they supposed to, The room is not completely clean, there is dust and hair everywhere, so just keep on mind they pull the bed under the bed which was not clean, also when I touch the lamp in the night tables, the power was going off and on, when I look, they are live cable that are not attached or coming from a outlet, a safety fire Hazzard, (pictures attached), that same day found out that the fridge is not working properly, went down stairs to report it, so they can change it, but they can't, because they don't have another fridge and have no employees for that task, so no cold drinks, I found during the week, that the fridge works a little better if you leave the cabinet door open, it gets really hot inside because of the poor ventilation, but the front desk very polite give me just one option, get ice from the coffee shop, but I can't because evertime I'm back is closed, they cloose at 5pm, so I ask the front desk, and the only option they give me, is buy your own ice at the store, really!, in that moment I told him that I will like to talk to the manager the next day because I was not happy with the service and other things that I haven't mention here. That was two days ago, and I am still waiting to talk to the manager. To be honest, 2 days ago, I was going to cancel my reservation and move to another hotel, but I'm tired and haven't the time to look for another hotel, the one star is for the good location. Look for a better option, they are other hotels with better prices and breakfast included, this one if you want breakfast you have to go to another hotel they have, and for the price and the distance is...
Read moreWe found the location very handy . Near by many restaurants and few bakeries. 25mins from the Kyoto station ( walking ) and few other places . Very central. We barely took the subway ‘ .
The bedrooms are spacious however terribly designed with the sink outside the bathroom/toilets . The toilets are huge they definitely had space for a sink. Example if you need to dry your hair you have to disturb your partner . And no privacy at all when you get ready! Make sure to travel with the right person! They should also think of a shelve near the shower to leave your wash-bag.
The bathroom fan can’t be turned off do you hear it at night.
The walls of the rooms are like cardboard and you can year your neighbours coughing or laughing or even talking. The walls inside the room between the bed and the bathroom are also extremely thing so you hear EVERYTHING!
The bed is comfy and large. Pillow too. We found everything clean in our room. USB plug to charge your phone are very handy.
Unfortunately our bedroom was facing a construction site so we had a plastic fence in front of our window + had construction noise from 8am . As soon as we arrived, before settling, We asked to change room at the reception. They offered the option for one room but wouldn’t let us see it before deciding which I found very silly.
They have a coffee place in the hotel. Convenient and good . But pricey coffees ( as everywhere else in Japan ).
The laundry is convenient and the machines and the dryers are well maintained with no smell or mould !
Service …. Well there’s none as everything...
Read moreWe took a cab from Kyoto Station to hotel. It was about ¥1500. We had 3 big suitcases and cab driver was so helpful. The hotel was unassuming/simple and blended in with the new and traditional houses around it. Once you walked in, there were 3 young friendly faces welcoming us. The lobby has an open concept. Cool decor and an atrium with greenery. A work place for guests right behind the atrium. We did the check in online so we went up to our room after chitchating with the Kabin crew and they answered all my questions patiently. No keys for the room. We got a 4 digit code for entrance. We had a Double/Triple room. It's good size for Japanese standard. I was worried about the window that can't see-thru but it actually was good because the hotel is in close proximity with other bldgs and that works for us for privacy. The beds were so comfy and so were the duvet covers. Housekeeping only available on the fourth day after the 3rd night. But you can put up a magnet on the door and your garbage will be picked up. It's fine with us...we don't wash our sheets at home everyday :D Also, there is a cart on each floor and you can toss out soiled towels in the hamper and pick up clean ones from the cart. Works out great for us. Also there are unlimited supplies of Hojicha and Green tea teabags(on the cart). The room has everything. The best best has to be the bathroom. Love the Toto toilet seat and the shower stall has rainforest shower and a handheld shower head. Good water pressure. We totally enjoyed our 4day 3night stay. The staff...
