This restaurant is such a treasure! We found it because we were staying at the Showaka across the street. The first night, we came in just for a carafe of wine and enjoyed the ambiance so much we returned the next night for dinner. This was the only Western meal we had while in Japan and I'm glad we made the exception. The chef was the single worker there--he was the chef, waiter, buser and dishwasher. Service was great--never rushed, and we felt like his efforts were a labor of love. He trained in Paris, and knows a French kitchen. Despite the small size, the menu was very extensive, and he (rightfully) recommended the Spring lamb special, which my husband ordered, and I had the cassoulet. American jazz standards played in the background, and we took our time and just really enjoyed our evening. I would recommend to anyone looking for an "unusual"...

We walked in to check the menu to see if there is food suitable for a toddler, the waiter seemed to speak good English but it felt like he didn’t listen. It felt like he disregarded everything we were saying from the beginning, but then he asked if he can bring water to what i replied that we will need a minute to check the menu first. He left and came back with water. We told him that we will not stay, he replied “but i asked you if you want me to bring water”. After that he turned around and said something to other guests and they turned to look at us… I thanked him before leaving, he didn’t even turn his head. Kind of disappointing and very...

A lovely French restaurant with very tasty food. We ordered the set menu, and everything we got was tasty: the carrot potage soup, the seafood gratin, the wine chicken, the brown butter fish, as well as the chocolate cake and the apricot tart (both came with ice cream). My friend had sparkling wine and I had white wine, which we enjoyed as well. A special mention for the brown butter fish: it was cooked very well, and the butter sauce was amazing, as well as the dollop of mashed potatoes that came with it. Highly recommend. The service was very attentive and friendly, and our food arrived promptly. The atmosphere was cozy and the place...

Walked in here after a long day of seeing the sites of Kyoto. Service was excellent - my waiter was attentive and answered all my questions. The ambience is lovely - you really do feel as though you’re in a Western, French restaurant. The music choice perfectly complements the atmosphere. I had the bistrot menu (4 courses plus coffee/tea for 4400 yen), and it was phenomenal. The main star was the sea bream, which was cooked and seasoned to perfection. At the end, the chef walked me out and saw me out the restaurant. It was the perfect ending touch to my meal. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys Western/French cuisine.

A small cozy bistro in Gion. Celebrated my mom’s birthday here - we ordered the sea bream and wagyu paired with some of their wine selections. We also had some bread and jamon to start and for dessert chocolate cake a la mode. Everything tasted amazing and paired well with the wine. We were not a fan of the cake but it was ok. The place was super clean and cozy we stayed long , laughed and walked home tipsy. It was fabulous. Their music selection is also sublime. Clean lavs and great service so overall we had a blast and made some nice happy memories here!

We had a good lunch here, after a long morning of site seeing in central Kyoto. The restaurant was offering a daily lunch menu, with a few options choose from, for that day: the soup (of the day), salad (ham or duck) and main course (chicken or veal), and also a drink included; with extra for the dessert or coffee. The food was DELICIOUS. Overall, I would recommend this place.
