Absolutely incredible Japanese-Mexican fusion tacos! Daruma Tacos just opened recently, and I can already tell this place is going to become one of Kyoto’s most popular spots. I’m a Mexican from California, and honestly these were some of the best tacos I’ve ever had. The Wagyu beef was amazing, and my favorite was definitely the Yakiniku taco (without cheese). We met the manager, Yuki, who was super kind and made us feel really welcomed. The whole team speaks English very well, which makes it super easy for travelers to order and chat. This place deserves to be packed. The food, service, and vibe are all top-notch. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in Kyoto. If you’re visiting Japan and craving tacos, Daruma Tacos is a must-try!

How does this place not have a long queue all the time? Just went back for the second night in a row unwilling to settle for anything else. Absolutely stunning Japanese / Tex-Mex fusion. All of the tacos are fantastic, but the teriyaki smash with cheese is a must try if it's your first visit. The potato wedges are well executed. And the chicken nuggets were a surprise hit; a leveled up McNugget style dish.

the food here was amazing!! the taco meat was so flavorful and tender, and the potato wedges were fresh and yummy too! We ordered twice because once we got our first order, we had to try more. the manager Yuki was very kind, welcoming and friendly. We had a great time here, and would definitely come back! Some of the best tacos we have ever had and the vibe was great too 😊🙌🏽

Absolutely loved this place!

A Japanese-style taco spot with zero pretentiousness. Just genuinely delicious food, friendly staff, and a great local beer. The flavors are rich and well-balanced, everything is freshly made, and the vibe inside is cozy and stylish.

My tip: go for 2–4 tacos per person and share a side (that’s the perfect combo). If you’re craving something different from traditional Japanese food but still want that local Kyoto twist, Daruma Tacos is a must-visit.

Fantastic experience, all the food tasted excellent and you could easily tell the ingredients were very fresh, the staff were friendly and had impeccable English as well. The craft beer we tried was lovely and refreshing!

The stools for seating were very comfortable, the entire venue was pristine and had a lovely atmosphere - especially while it was raining, the lighting was not a harsh bright light but a warm yellow glow, not too dim either. I wish I had ordered more...
