A true hidden gem in Tokyo! We had lunch here with our group and everyone was impressed. Two of us ordered the Wagyu set and it was absolutely perfect. Every bite was delicious and beautifully prepared.
One person in our group eats only vegetarian and they were served a dedicated vegetarian menu from the list, also excellent. The service was warm and attentive and the overall vibe was cozy and welcoming despite the compact space.
As a bonus, the sanitary facilities were the cleanest we encountered in any restaurant during our time to Kyoto.

Read moreWe had one of our best meals yet! After a full day of exploring we walked into Kyoya and were immediately welcomed. They had an English friendly menu and made it easy to choose. I went with their most recommended option and my only regret is that I didn’t get a larger portion! The wagyu melts in your mouth and everything from the soup, salad, and sauce were incredibly tasty! We also got the dango with vanilla ice cream which was another great way to finish the meal. Easily a new favorite that I hope to one day...
Read moreYum yum yum! Really large menu for a classic small restaurant and everything was so tasty, no wonder it has so many great reviews. Lovely people too. Special desserts so don’t skip that part. Super close to Ginkakuji temple if you are headed that way, it’s just a tiny bit off the tourist path so use the gps and go here! If you like wagyu beef this is a great place to treat yourself. But the tonkatsu is perfection too. We live in the neighborhood and look forward to going often....
