Aoi Nakamoto — Hotel in Kyoto

Room was dusty, bed covers were not clean and the air wasn’t fresh inside rooms. Our jacket got stained white somehow inside the wardrobe. We had a friend coming over the second day wanting to pay to add a bed, and instead of saying no politely, the owner got super furious and yelled at one of us and said that this is Japan’s rule, whereas during our other stay it was absolutely acceptable. This resulted in some of us leaving to stay at a proper hotel and got no refund. Not recommended...

This place is amazing, loved staying here for the one night I did. Beautiful simple room with tatami flooring and padded bed with AC. Woke up at 5 am, and didn’t want to get out cause it was so comfortable.

Bathroom/washroom and room were clean and super organized, supplied body soap, shampoo, and conditioner.

Loved this place, very good price, quiet and comfortable. Would love to stay longer if I was in Kyoto for a few extra days. Favorite guest house in Japan.

Very nice, quiet and well located, the host is super accommodating and friendly. I stayed in a single room and it was so calm and quiet I rested super well. I came in the winter, which is pretty cold in Kyoto, and the room and the whole place was nice and warm. There’s a kitchen with a fridge a microwave and kettle and a table to eat. It has a nice bathroom with a japanese style bathtub and two other rest rooms. I will definitely come back next time I’m visiting, totally...
