M Stand - Kyoto Nanzenji Cafe — Restaurant in Kyoto

Originally from Shanghai, M Stand Coffee has found its place in Kyoto with a few beautifully designed locations. The branch near Kyoto City Zoo is especially convenient, sitting on the way to Nanzen-ji Temple — making it the perfect spot for a mid-journey coffee break!

The interior is clean, minimalist, and stylish, offering a calm yet modern vibe. From the second floor, large windows provide a stunning 270° view of the surrounding streets and greenery. It’s the kind of café where time slows down just enough to enjoy the moment.

We tried the Matcha Coconut Cloud Float, the Kyoto Limited Single Origin Cold Brew, and the Matcha Cheesecake. Each was satisfying and well-balanced — the float was refreshing, the cold brew smooth, and the cheesecake had just the right touch...

What an amazing little cafe on the way to go visit some shrines. Clean and minimalist aesthetic. The menu has various drinks options and you won’t be disappointed with any choices. We tried the matcha coffee which was absolutely amazing and the watermelon juice which was refreshing. We ordered some of their food options - avo toast and egg / ham toast also didn’t disappoint.
