Had to ride the Geibi and Kisuki lines to Matsu from Hiroshima. Now this would be like a two hour bus ride, but on the train it’s about four, except JR West shut down all mid day service starting today of all days (last week there was normal service), so the trip took me eleven hours in total. By the time I made it to Matsue, I was starting and this was despite a huge backpack full of junk food. I checked in to the hotel and made my way straight for Pizza Napoletana UWOZA.
Sadly, I understand Japanese, but don’t speak it very well conversely, apparently the owners understand English, but don’t speak it very well luckily it was online ordering, which had an English sub menu so I made ordering the pizza pretty easy. The first thing that struck me is a little odd was the cheapest pizza was ¥2700. That’s about a third more than I pay for the same pizza pretty much anywhere else in Japan.
Thankfully, when the pizza came out, it was also about a third larger than most everyone else is Neapolitan pizzas in Japan, so I was pretty happy about that. Sadly, I would’ve liked to had the option of the smaller PIZZA because of getting into appointed life where I just don’t want to eat an entire large pizza anymore it’s not really as much about the money is just about the portion size.
Back on point though this was a pretty good pizza was cooked. Conversely, the husband-wife team were very nice and pleasant people we tried to speak in our own broken tounges as best we could, though I’m sure they’re probably frustrated with me, even though they both had big smiles on their faces, so who knows if they were pressed by seeing the thousands of pizza pictures on my Instagram Usually people seem to be pretty happy when I stop it and show thousands of pictures of pizza on Instagram and they’re being shown the fact that I’m gonna tag them in social media.
Pro: it was a decent size pizza Con: it’s the most expensive pizza to date See the pies on Insta...
Read moreIt was… alright, the taste of the pizzas was good, however I had a main problem with the pizzas Altough I’m sure that is very normal for here. They had too much stuff on them, the pizzas we ordered had too much ingredients on them, making them filling, difficult to eat and make the base soggy. Don’t get me wrong, they were very nice pizzas, just too many ingredients on them, if you cut back on the amount of toppings you’d get almost perfect pizzas in my opinion. Overall really nice staff and really cute atmosphere, I do apologise that my standards for food do not match the standards here, i do wish to say: Less can be more on pizzas Thank you...
Read moreThis is my worst dinner since I came to Japan. Worst pasta I've ever had and a very bad impression of the owner's attitude towards us. We were wandering around Matsue to find a restaurant and finally we chose here. At first they said they were out of pizza, so we had to chose pasta. But the mushroom pasta had a very strange sour taste that made it hard to eat. It was awful even for us who were hungry enough to ate anything. The taste was not worth 1900 yen at all. We told our feelings to the owners, and they said that pasta is just like this. They seem like didn't take our opinion seriously and didn't even...
