THE DRUNKEN DUCK 水戸店 — Restaurant in Mito

Was in ibaraki for two days doing a comedy show and found this gem.

I had the mozzarella mushroom burger and it was one of the best burgers from not the best burger in japan! (And I’ve eaten burgers in over 10 prefectures). I really enjoyed how he wrapped like a fist full of avocado in bacon then put it in the burger. Never had anything like it.

My friend wanted to try kangaroo and alligator meat and was able to do that as well here. Maybe the only place in japan.

The pub was also super clean, well lit, had projectors for an Aussie football game and music videos.

The staff was super friendly and always working hard on up-keeping the pub and maintaining a cool atmosphere.

The owner was super friendly, fun to talk to and a stand up guy.

This is probably the best burger in Mito! It’s sooo tasty and big!!! The bun is perfect, the patty is delicious and combined with the cheese, oh! Taste like heaven. The restaurant environment reminds me of pub and having a place like this in Japan can be quite fun. Seems to be very popular among girls. Personally, I’ve got a little bit bothered by having people sitting close to me and talking loudly, but as the food arrived, I could almost forget it all, hahaha. Couldn't have rated it much higher honestly. It feels very much like an English pub, probably the most genuine feeling one I've been to in Japan. There's a large selection of food, especially burgers but also a good mix of English pub food. There's also a massive selection of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic including Cider too! All food was fairly large portions and very reasonably priced. The apple pie was also absolutely delicious to finish!

Would absolutely recommend to anyone, but...
