We wanted something different for dinner after having tonkatsu pork and sushi the past few days and the missus found this small eatery just a few minutes from the hotel, in Chinatown.

The owner, who is originally from Beijing, and his wife run the shop and greet their regular customers with smiles.

We ordered the mapo tofu with fried rice and this seemed to be a favourite as other guests also ordered the dish. We added another fried rice and it was delish. The bowl of egg drop soup that was provided was also tasty.

This tiny place was delicious. We got pickled veggies steamed dumplings and the spicy ramen. It was wonderful! Owned by an older married couple. They were polite and helpful when they could be. The spicy ramen is pretty spicy so only order if you enjoy and can tolerate spice. Amazing flavor. Excellent mom and pop shop (literally, it was just the 2 of them) just outside of china town. outstanding Mapo Tofu (finally, some heat!) and spicy ramen.
