This cafe is a rare treat. The recommended pistachio-chocolate parfait set was the ultimate in perfect complementary flavors: homemade pistachio butter layered with a premium vanilla soft cream and a rich homemade Vahrona dark chocolate ice cream that was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Nothing was overly sweet, just intense pure flavors. The iced coffee accompaniment was also of the very best quality, made to order. Fabulous location for refreshments after visiting the Dejima settlement museum. The site was a jazz club established in 1958 by the current friendly owner's parents. Now it serves the best parfaits ever! We loved the genuine respect the owner has for his building and heritage, quality coffee and the best ingredients possible for the most delicious parfaits I've ever had. These guys served up one of the best desserts I have had in years of travel around the world. From the hand made ice cream, containing specially selected vanilla extract with a two year maturation period, to the perfectly ripe yet firm fruit, to the coffee beans from one of Japan's most noted coffee roasters, this place is not to be missed. Service was excellent and staff were equal parts professional and friendly.
