By far, the best burger we have tasted in Nagoya, never mind the US. Chef Shinji's beef was juicy and left a peppery aftertaste. The beef was so juicy and overflowing that the resto recommended to wrap it in paper envelopes. My wife had a bacon burger, I had the Republic special. Chef's garnish combinations of onion, lettuce, were exquisite. Chef chooses special cuts of beef; he bakes his buns fresh daily; his smokes his own bacon. His kosher dills tasted like a New York deli's. Oishi, totemo oishi desu!
The ambience was perfect. Hole-in-the-wall in the midst of Imaike Izakayas. Four bar stools and a counter. Bottles of Glenlivet and rum between grill and customers. Cold beer. Fast service.
