Total surprise, a flavorful ramen/mazesoba/dipping noodles place in a row of small food shops next to Nagoya Castle and Dolphins Area. We entered just wanting to seat and eat something after a long walk but discovered a great place with nice, even if simple ambiance, super helpful stuff and great great food. We had miso ramen and spicy mazesoba. The first dish was “just” very very good but the mazesoba was an actual experience - thick noodles you mix with spices, meat and fresh, raw egg; amazing on its own. But then, when you eat the noodles you’re left with lots of tasty sauce that you’re expected to mix with rice (and another egg if willing). It all combines to a flavorful, filling, spicy dish that you’ll remember for a long time. Highly recommended!

My wife and I had our lunch at Fujiyama 55 before going to Nagoya castle today. I had the their Taiwan Maze soba Red, which is one of the best noodle I had in Japan. My wife ordered its Ebi Tsukemen, which made by shrimp base with umami taste. This is also one of the best Tsukemen we had in Japan. This restaurant is only 2 mins walk from the Shiyakusho station on the Meijo line. Highly recommend.
