🇯🇵 Experience Nagoya's famous 'morning service' here! More below.
This place is a travellers dream! Just a short walk from Nagoya station (through a photograph-wortht part of town!), and great food at great prices.
🍳The menu is a bit confusing, so here's how it works: You order a drink (600¥ or so) and then 'add on' the breakfast menu, my adzuki beans on toast with egg and salad was only and extra 250¥.
Order at the counter then take a seat.
🪑 Seating upstairs that is comfortable and lounge-like. Great place to chat. Bar seating available.
I visited on a Monday morning and there was no wait and plenty of tables.
☕ One free coffee refill, at the self-service pot near the water.
❓What is a morning service? Traditionally, Japanese breakfast is a set with rice. But the the modern Nagoya take is a set that includes Western components like toast and coffee.
In a morning service, the coffee is a regular price and the breakfast is free or nearly free. It began as simply free peanuts for repeat customers, and evolved into the tradition today.
🚭 No smoking, unlike some other traditional Japanese breakfast places.

For sweet-lovers, the red bean and butter toast is a must-try in Nagoya. The toast is soft and slightly crunchy. The assorted sandwiches are great too. The self-service counter also provides unlimited supply of black coffee and water.
The atmosphere of this place is very serene, as the property itself is a decades-old wooden "kominka" house. Seats on the 1/F are wall-facing bar table seats, but if you take the really steep staircases to the 2/F, there are a lot of seats and sofas for groups to enjoy a cozy time together.
I'd like to thank the very friendly and attentive staff of this restaurant. An anti-spill cup with straws was provided to our child to facilitate her to drink her juice.
English menu available. Support contactless credit card payment (visa/mastercard etc). Baby strollers have to be...

If you’re a coffee lover, they roast beans on the site. You can pick your favourite beans and they will roast it in an expensive machine that is one of a few that exists in Nagoya. My suggestion is that you order that with your breakfast so by the time you finish the breakfast, the beans are good to go with you. It takes about 20 min for roasting. The staff are very friendly and open to foreign visitors. Menu is easy to follow. The place is also definitely loved by locals from what we saw on the day. There were couples, friends and young family. We had a lovely time to start the day.
Tips: Depending on your itinerary, it’s 10 min walk from Nagoya station and only 2-3 min to the nearest subway station.
For people with mobility issues, the main seating area is on the second floor and there’s a table for 2 people on the...
