Gorkha — Restaurant in Nagoya

I went for lunch on a weekday and had the special set (gorkha tokubetsu set) for 1650 JPY, tax included. The food is really good. Solid good. Falls just short of amazing, but it’s really good. Salad is the average you’d expect. The tandoori chicken was well seasoned and juicy, but maybe could’ve been cooked just a bit more? The cheese naan is not too oily and you feel the cheese properly. The curry is very well done and you can feel the blend of spices. It’s thick and spicy in the right way. The staff is kind. But the atmosphere is lacking. We visited this restaurant very early in the New Year and we absolutely loved it. We ordered two of the curry sets, which came with salad, rice, a meat curry, samosa, naan and icecream.

Everything was absolutely delicious, the curry had a great flavour and the samosas were fantastic. I really enjoyed the naan as well, it was a different style to what we're used to but it was crispy, fluffy and delicious at the same time.

The owners were super friendly and very attentive. I would go back for the service alone.
