Red Magic Nagoyaeki — Restaurant in Nagoya

We came here for a drink and look around, maybe shisha. The reviews were very good, and the said the staffs' English was very good.

When we arrived we weren't given a physical menu and had to add the bar as a friend on LINE to view the menu, which wasn't in English, and for some reason they didn't have any Japanese beers.

The server spoke basically zero English. And after a few attempts, we got a drink, and said we'd let them know if we wanted a shisha later. The staffer came out again a few minutes later, asking what we wanted. Then another staffer who spoke a English appeared with an English menu declaring we needed to pay them 2,500 yen for 'usage fee' deapite the fact we hadn't been in the bar more than 10 minutes and hadn't used any facilities other than chairs, and a dust covered, broken, cracked glass table that was literally taped backed together. They taped a glass table together. 😅

Anyway, we just paid for drinks and left this lifeless, tiny bar with no other customers, with the staff giving us dirty looks when we leave. I'm sorry, I haven't used anything in your bar, I won't be scammed for 50 usd simply for sitting down.

I give 2 stars because mYbe I don't understand the bar culture as a tourist. But I relied on Google for 'good English, and friendly to foreigners.' But we were never told when we entered there was a 'usage fee' nor any other there any signs anywhere stating this....

This is my new favourite Shisha spot in Nagoya. I ordered “Double Apple Mint with an ice hose and a Guava Juice”. This came to ¥2,700 total, which is incredibly reasonable considering how much extra services they offer (chocolates and mixed nuts/an iPhone charger etc.). The ice hose is free (very rare) and they replace it with a new one when it becomes warm. Not many places do this. They also kept supplying fresh coal to the shisha on a regular basis throughout my stay there. Their customer service is amazing, the shisha is very delicious, and the view and scenery from the outside seating area is very comfortable. Great shisha with a wide selection of flavors and an awesome system! For the fair price of around 2700-2800 yen you can get a shisha, drink, all you can eat curry and rice, all you can eat candy and nuts which is an insane deal! And the atmosphere of the shop is really amazing being on a rooftop and one of the few open shisha shops in Nagoya, all of these things make this shop a very unique and a must try spot for anyone interested in shisha.
