Komeda's Coffee — Restaurant in Nagoya

For the past five years, we've gone to this Komeda branch almost every weekend. My husband enjoys their Komeda blend that he even orders in tapuri (big) size. He likes it better than the star one. I used to order hot cocoa with foam cream on top. After some time, I also fell in love with their cafe ole. My daughter loves their buttery toasted bread and oguran (bean paste)topping.

There are many Komeda branches around us but what we like about this place is the old vibe atmosphere and the view of the canal outside. We've also become friends with the staff (who are always accomodating and friendly to us) and even with other regulars. We are foreigners in this country but they never treated us like it. If we ever come back to Nagoya in the future, I will surely visit this...

There are several branches in Nagoya, but the one I visited was bustling with locals grabbing breakfast before work. I loved the dated interior, which added a quaint charm to the place. Although the staff didn’t speak English (understandably), they were very friendly. With some help from a local sitting next to me, I managed to order the breakfast set, which includes coffee, toast, and butter/jam. An acceptable cup of coffee, slightly too bitter for my personal liking, but no fault of Komeda’s Coffee as it is my own preference.

Love the concept of the bread/margarine or jam/egg or egg salad together with a drink order, as it is an acceptable breakfast for a normal day.
