Location & Accessibility
Nestled in central Nagoya, Hilton Nagoya boasts a prime position on Sakae 1-chome in Naka-ku. Just a 3-minute walk from Fushimi Station, it's conveniently tucked between Nagoya Station and the vibrant Sakae district. Nearby attractions like Ōsu Kannon and Nagoya Castle are within a short distance. The hotel is also a landmark skyscraper — Nagoya’s only international-branded luxury hotel.
Accommodations & Room Comfort
Guest rooms are notably spacious by Japanese standards, typically over 30 m², combining modern design with subtle local touches like nods to Nagoya Castle. For a cultural immersion, the Japanese Suite offers tatami flooring, a low table, a traditional shower bucket, yukata robes, and a thoughtfully designed shoe area — though the firm bedding and bean pillows might not suit all preferences, and minor quirks like occasional plumbing issues have been reported.
Amenities & Facilities
Dining options span a wide variety:
In Place 3-3: a stylish all-day dining buffet with à la carte and afternoon tea.
Hideaway 3-3: a cozy bar offering live jazz and Japanese whiskies.
Genji: refined Japanese cuisine featuring over 100 sakes and shōchūs.
Dynasty: modern Chinese fare.
Well-equipped recreation: an indoor pool, fitness center, tennis court, massage/body treatments, executive lounge, concierge, meeting spaces, EV charging, room service, digital key access — and even free bike rentals.
Guest Service & Staff
The staff consistently receive praise: efficient, friendly, multilingual, and very helpful with concierge requests, breakfast assistance, and thoughtful touches. A standout example: a guest in the executive lounge shared how staff went the extra mile, calling a store to confirm stock, making a note for them, and even arranging a small anniversary cake.
Dining & Breakfast Experience
Guests rave about the breakfast: a rich spread of both Western and Japanese dishes, including local specialties like miso katsu and kishimen noodles. One visitor highlighted over 80 menu items and...

It was our first time visiting Nagoya and we chose Hilton. I was highly impressed with the staff's level of service. Without any prompting, they went above and beyond to accommodate our family, providing thoughtful amenities for the kids, including slippers, a foam scrub, kids' toothbrushes, and an engaging activity sheet with crayons. Additionally, the staff's assistance in guiding us to the elevator and their offer to help with our car and luggage made us feel truly valued as guests.
However, there were a couple of notable downsides to our stay. One major issue was the lack of an exhaust fan (or maybe there is but it’s obviously not working) in the bathroom. This resulted in excessive moisture buildup after just one person's shower, leaving the walls, vanity top, and floor super wet and the mirror heavily fogged. The bathroom appeared “worn and tired” after just a single shower. Furthermore, I encountered a hygiene concern when I found a long black hair strand caught in the collar of a folded kimono, which was quite off-putting.
Perhaps the most disappointing aspect of our stay was the sound insulation of the rooms. While I initially tolerated the faint conversations from the neighboring room, it became increasingly disruptive when the occupants began laughing, talking loudly, and eventually shouting. I had expected the walls to be soundproof, especially in a hotel of this caliber, but unfortunately, this was not the case. As a result, the hope for a peaceful and restful night's sleep after a long day went unfulfilled, I hope these issues can be addressed in the future to ensure a consistently enjoyable experience...
Read moreThis is a really nice and comfortable hotel. Certainly up to the Hilton standard. The rooms are quite large for a hotel in Japan and the beds are super comfortable. Everything is clean and while the hotel is on the older side, they made a decent effort in keeping everything up to date including support for digital keys (Unlike the Hilton in Osaka). A huge shoutout to Ms. Azuma, the front desk shift leader for making the check in process a breeze! Everybody was so nice and welcoming. And I highly recommend stopping by the lobby cafe for a Red Velvet.
Breakfast was a little disappointing mainly due to the fact that there were little to no fresh fruit. Everything was either soaked in simple syrup or tasted like it was from a can (pineapples). Nonetheless, there was enough variety and they have cute little fruit popsicles that made up for the lack of fruits.
Access-wise, it isn’t the best since you have to walk about 5 minutes to the nearest subway station and Nagoya station isn’t within walking distance. In terms of tourist attractions, the TV tower is a 20 minute walk away and Nagoya Castle is on the same subway line as the closest station. The main shopping area with all the department stores and Donki is also a 20 minute walk away If you want to rent a car, there are two Toyota rent-a-car branches nearby and the closest highway entrance is about an 8 minute drive away with traffic.
All in all, I had a very pleasant stay here and I would definitely return if I’m in...
