真菜板家 綱 — Restaurant in Naha

Went due to the high ratings and proximity to our hotel (Cocktail Stay Naha). The food was beautifully plated and served. We tried their salted fish, sake clams, chawanmushi(egg custard), and vegetable medley - all which were good. There is no English menu so have Google translate handy.

The only negative was that pricing wasn’t transparent as the server gave us a flat amount of ¥10000 on an slip of paper with no breakdown and our original estimate was 7k. It was our first meal so we were unaware of the table fee nor that certain dishes were advertised with their lowest price but could be higher based on market. We asked for clarity, and the server explained but couldn’t give us a receipt/breakdown. Paying nearly 1.5x expected was a bit of a shock, and unfortunately tainted our experience.

I think the restaurant is nice higher end experience that others may enjoy, but it wouldn’t be my first...

There is a 3,500 yen table charge that was only revealed when the bill came. We also had to pay more than the listed price for several items, so 3 dishes and 3 beers came to 12,000 yen.
