Fantastic dining experience with the most personable service I’ve experienced in a long time (and I recently ate at a 3 starred Michelin place in Bangkok). We ordered the smallest of the set menus because we couldn’t quite understand what was on the menu, even with google translate, and thought we would just rely on the kitchen. The meal started with appertizers displayed on the counter; one of them was fish roe with garlic marinated in olive oil. Phenomenal! We ordered a second helping even though we were stuffed. The rest of the meal, fantastic sashimi, tempura, waygu beef, and eel on rice were superb.

Read more4.5-star in my view. For this price range, 5-star pork with small dishes, tempura, Chawanmushi and duck; 3-star eel and Wagyu beef. The pork was cooked super soft without any odor, the pig skin almost melted in my mouth. The tempura was thin in coating, I especially liked the tomato one. The duck was very flavorful, even though the fat was not rendered out, the bites were not greasy at all. The Chawanmushi was extremely smooth with the umami of various seafood, the sea urchin was very fresh too. For the eel it was a bit too fishy to my taste, and the cut of the beef was pretty hard to chew on. The environment was chill and relaxed, not as noisy as a lot of other izakaya.
